Marko Mrsic, Managing Director, SITE Traffic
A pivotal moment ignites curiosity, driving action and making the ordinary impossible to accept. Some are born with a clear vision, while others find their path through unexpected encounters. But what truly defines them is their passion and willingness to push boundaries, embrace challenges, and turn obstacles into milestones. The road to success is never linear, it twists and turns and demands grit, and an unrelenting drive to create lasting impact. True entrepreneurs adapt to change, drive innovation, and reshape industries to forge the future.
Few embody this relentless pursuit of progress more than Marko Mrsic, a visionary building the future of mobility through traffic planning and engineering. His story is a testament to how curiosity, resilience, and foresight can transform industries and redefine possibilities. From a youthful fascination with cars and motor racing, he forged a lifelong pursuit of innovation in transport systems. A chance opportunity at a small civil engineering firm ignited his passion for traffic design, setting him on a path that would take him across continents and into some of the world’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. From the M11 motorway duplication in England to the Palm Islands in Dubai, Khalifa International Stadium, and Doha International Airport, Marko has made a global impact. His journey goes beyond engineering—it embodies vision, tenacity, and the drive to redefine possibilities in an ever-evolving world. In 2010, he established his own traffic engineering company, further cementing his influence in the industry.
The Bold Rise of SITE Traffic
Every significant venture begins with a leap of faith, and for Marko Mrsic, that leap was both daring and transformative. In 2010, with nothing more than a suitcase, a laptop, and a vision, he boarded a one-way flight to Singapore, determined to carve out his path in traffic engineering. He ventured forth without guarantees—no secured contracts, no safety net—driven solely by an unshakable belief in his capacity to create something remarkable. “Looking back, it was a big risk, but I was completely confident it would work. Passion and persistence make all the difference,” Marko recalls.
Founding TTS Group (Total Traffic Solutions) from the ground up, he swiftly discovered that technical expertise was merely the foundation. To truly succeed in a competitive market, he needed to innovate relentlessly, integrate cutting-edge technology, and cultivate a team of exceptional local talent. This strategic approach propelled rapid growth, paving the way for expansion into Australia in 2014 and Vietnam in 2015.
In 2021, after a successful international career, Marko returned to Australia, transforming the company into SITE Traffic. SITE Traffic now leads Southeast Queensland’s specialist sector, with rapid growth and a commitment to reshaping traffic engineering.

Engineering Mastery Through Foresight
Rebranding SITE Traffic was beyond a name change, it was a strategic move that cemented the company’s role as an industry leader in traffic engineering for private development, construction, and infrastructure projects. Marko Mrsic established SITE Traffic on the principle that genuine success lies not merely in providing a service, but in forging an integral partnership with clients’ businesses. “Our greatest asset isn’t just our expertise—it’s our people. Without our highly skilled and dedicated team, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We offer solutions and work hand in hand with our clients to create real, practical outcomes that drive success,” Marko emphasises.
Beyond the company’s commercial success, Marko has always been an advocate for industry growth. In 2012, he founded the Transport Industry Forum of Singapore (TIFS), fostering collaboration between businesses and government agencies. SITE Traffic also partners with the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM), where it plays a pivotal role in training, networking, and driving industry evolution.
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Market shifts, economic downturns, and fierce competition have tested SITE Traffic’s resilience. Marko learned early on that complacency is the enemy of success. Despite the challenges, Marko’s unwavering focus on people—both staff and family—has been his greatest asset. “My family has been my rock. Their support and belief in me have been the driving force behind everything I’ve built,” he shares. He credits his incredible wife, three beautiful kids, close family, and remarkable friends for being there for him throughout this journey. “My family has been my backbone and savior over the years. Their relentless support and ongoing encouragement have been instrumental in keeping things together, and without them, I can reasonably say that none of this would have worked,” he expresses. Through vision, grit, and people, SITE Traffic continues to pave the way forward.
Steering Legacy with Purpose
True leadership is about fostering a shared vision, inspiring action, and creating growth opportunities. Marko prefers ‘Teamship’ over leadership, emphasizing collaboration, motivation, and tough decision-making. “Strong relationships and an enjoyable work environment are key,” he shares. He empowers his team by fostering ownership, autonomy, and transparency, encouraging open communication to achieve shared goals.
The foundation of Marko’s vision for SITE Traffic was a desire to build a company he’d enjoy working for. His continuous focus is on driving sustained growth in a changing industry, while empowering staff with meaningful opportunities. “I consider them business partners, not employees,” he adds.
Marko is focused on industry advancements, with a keen eye on Autonomous Vehicles and AI, as they promise groundbreaking opportunities. “Staying ahead in these areas will set us apart,” he notes. Additionally, he contributes to shaping Australian Standards and Austroads Guidelines, helping define the future of traffic engineering.
Success Rooted in Passion and People
Success flourishes through passion, perseverance, and the strength of a supportive network. For Marko, leading in the traffic engineering industry has always been about fostering a team culture where people feel valued. He firmly believes that investing in a strong workplace environment is essential for collaboration and long-term success. Treating his staff as an extended family, he actively organizes social events, team activities, and industry engagements, always encouraging employees—and their families—to participate. Beyond his professional achievements, Marko credits his family’s unwavering support as a key pillar of his success. “Having a strong and supportive family is absolutely essential—not financially, but emotionally. Their constant encouragement has been a driving force in my success and sanity,” he conveys.
Even after 30 years, Marko remains hands-on, driven by the same passion that ignited his career. “I do not consider any part of my business or work as a job. This has been a passion of mine all my life, and there’s not one aspect of this profession that I dislike. If you truly love what you do, taking risks becomes an opportunity, not a gamble,” he states. His philosophy of leading with passion and resilience has both shaped his career and inspired his team to push boundaries and innovate.
As a testament to his dedication, Marko and his team, as part of TTS Group, won the Promising SME 500 award in Singapore in 2015, an honor recognizing business excellence. They later secured a spot in the Top 10 category, earning a special achievement award as a leading business luminary in the country. As SITE Traffic continues to evolve, Marko’s commitment to innovation, people, and an unrelenting love for his work ensures a future driven by vision and brilliance.
